Vaccination has to be the appropriate measure for this epidemic. The argument against this is to do with exports and yet the value of these exports is tiny compared to the economic cost of the slaughter policy. Given that we are net importers of meat, this is madness.

I think they should vaccinate all suceptible animals and let the disease take it's course. The economics of the current fiasco beggar belief!

We wont't be civilised until we stop eating the animals! None of this would be happening if we were not such barbarians and all those people with no food could have enough instead to growing it to feed animals. We are so greedy and led by mega greedy government. Regards Viv.

There is supposed to be a general election coming very soon. If your website could publish the postal addresses/email addresses of the main political parties in the local constituencies, your supporters could contact them as well. It all adds to the pressure!

I share your concern for the area. (I live at Gwynfe)

Your worries should extend much further than Epynt, the carcasses should not be buried anywhere.

Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 21:29
shouldnt be allowed, have every sympathy with you and your cause

Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 22:08
It is bloody disgusting. They are doing a similar thing here in Northants. The carcasses should (must) be burnt on the infected farm.

I find it hard to believe that anyone with an ounce of sense can let this happen - maybe this says a lot for maff.

Have you ever considered the option of forming a FMD chat room, off this page, so that people who are affected or just concerned with this outbreak, throughout the country can communicate and share facts, as it seems that everyone is trying to fight their own battle, and obvoiusly not enough correct information is being fed to us through the inadequate government. We know, that infected sheep and cows from our area (Monmouthshire)went to epynt last week. Due to the excess numbers around our area it is impossible to say if some of the Glos/cases are heading your way, we will now keep a closer eye on them, all in all, well done for guarding your corner, if you dont then no one else will, and by your protest alot more people now know what is happening in your beautiful valley.

Blair and his gang are mediaeval butchers on a middle ages witch hunt against a 21st century virus. God help this country if he wins the next election.

But the animals have got to be disposed of somewhere, don't be so selfish. Better in your back garden than mine!

Any single one of these "happenings" in normal times would be labelled a disaster - but the combination of all them is beyond ones wildest environmental nightmares. When will our newspaper editors take the government to task - are they all useless?

Sunday, April 15, 2001 at 14:46
Tony Blair should resign

Sunday, April 15, 2001 at 15:37
i hate all maff afficials for destroying my life

This very corrupt government has no feeling or thought for the people of this land, but only for the pursuit of personal power. In cumbria the Herdwick sheep, did number 75,000, this has now been reduced to half. This is a desperate situation. Try www.sheepdrove.com and www.whatweareswallowing.com for up to date information. Our prayers are with you.

The goverment/dictatorship are panicing because they know they have lost control of the Foot & Mouth outbreak. They could vaccinate as other countries do, this would give us a fighting chance against this disease. Why bring this disease into a part of Wales currently unaffected.
