Mary had a little lamb
It's mouth had got no blisters
Now it's burning in a ditch
With it's brothers and it's sisters.

Hit in the shoulder,
Hit in the throat -
Run for the woods
From the man in the coat.

If you want to post this please put it on as 'Fireman Sam' Carwyn says 'If the Environment Agency (E.A.) says its safe to carry on dumping I will.' When he had a proper (albeit highly paid) job Carwyn was a barrister - a QC no less. To do this job properly he had to believe everything his clients told him. No matter how made-up or how fantastic he had to believe them. The E. A. work for the government and like any sensible employee concerned about their long term employment prospects tells the boss what he wants to hear. 'Yes Mr Jones it's safe.' But everyone else knows that the only way that dumping carcasses on Epynt might be a very, very small bit safe in certain conditions etc etc (and this may be worth discussing over a few shandies in the pub) is if rivers run uphill. So if the E. A. told Carwyn that rivers ran uphill - would he beleive them. Come on you have not be paying attention - of course he would!

This is an awful desecration of what should be one of the most treasured parts of our small British Isles. I feel such sympathy with you all. When will London realise that without the rural communities, and the beautiful land + rivers, that the whole essence of the British Isles will disappear forever? All in the name of business, finance and exports! They bow to the great God of Money and don't care that they are destroying the gift that the Almighty gave to us. Peoples who pillage the land and nature are destroying not only their own habitat but that of the generations yet unborn - it's sacriligious!

Selfishly, I have competed in many car rally events on Epynt. However, as a result, I can only agree that it is a place of outstanding natural beauty. The use it is currently being put to and the apparent risks involved is scandalous.

This is just one more total cock-up that the government has made over the FMD disaster.

The policy isn't working - they can't implement it fast enough, and if they could the rate of slaughter would be even greater. They need to review their policy but are too arrogant to do so. This was waiting to happen, and MAFF have acquiesced in setting up the condisitons for it.

I am appalled at the way the Government and NAFF are handling this crisis. Burning and burying of these carcasses is certainly going to cause an envionmental crisis in due course. The rivers and water supplies will become contaminated.

I have read the bulletin board for the last few days...I am not directly involved although I live in an rural area fairly local to the epynt..I have spent many a day on the range whether it be for motor sport or purely for the view!! I am not in the agriculural business in any way but feel for you all as the line of work has quiet patches but I know that will recover, who knows when the govt will allow this one to turn around?...My thoughts are with you all.... I am not sure what is the ideal solution to the current epidemic...maybe to accept F&M as normal and soldier on or to go for the UK as an F&M free country to allow exports.. That is in your hands to lobby your MP or whoever and push for what YOU feel is right...Best of luck....CMT, resident of Gwynfe
