BACK to comments Monday, May 21, 2001 at 19:18 Where the Hell were farming unions in all this what do we pay them for??? Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at 08:17 How can this happen in a democratic country? The whole affair is terrible beyond words. Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 00:05 I was told to have a look at your website by my friend. I thought that the burning had stopped, of course that must have been media blackout. I sat through two weeks of Public Inquiry into an animal waste incinerator in Wrexham, so I am only too aware of the toxins that can be emmitted from an incinerator. What you have got is completely uncontrolled and will have an effect for generations to come. Have you contacted Communities Against Toxics? That is the foremost organisation in the UK and Europe into incineration, pollution and health. They helped us in our fight against the multi-national Monsanto here in Cefn Mawr. The contact e-mail is ralph@tcpublications.freeserve.co.uk subscriptions are very low especially when you consider the info available. Good luck! Saturday, June 9, 2001 at 17:37 Yes of course i support you.You have now the chance, maybe through Noel,to band together throughout the country and worry the hell out of Margaret Becket. She must visit yourselves,Dumfries Devon etc. and explain personally her intentions to bring this disguting mess to an end.Tell her to be honest !!.Is there going to be a mass cull in certain areas or not. If she says no and then does the opposite, then i think this country is in for a Revolution. I live in Oxfordshire.Although not a Farmer i am trying to keep abreast of what is going on outhere.i originally come from Kent, and i tell you this,if all this was going on in Kent or Essex, there would be some serious trouble. The fact is that because all of you are miles from London and the Government are distorting the facts, people over there think it is all but over.I have tried to wind up the National Press again but they dont seem interested. Please, get together with the other groups and get this new Government/National Press/Telivision to let the whole country know what has been going on,and, what may be about to happen.God forbid. Good Luck to you all out there. We have so far been lucky here, but it aint over yet and the Farmers are still taking all the precautions they can,and are still frightened to death that it may come back. Saturday, June 9, 2001 at 20:12 Hello all, don't believe that all Europe is unaware of what is happening in your beautiful country! I read about what is going on there in a Swiss paper (Zeitfragen/Current concerns) and I was shocked. This is an example of what they mean when they talk about 'democracy' or 'local governement' in Europe. Please hold on! What you do is important for all of us. Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at 09:21 During the convenient lull in Foot and Mouth reporting do people realise that a potential disaster is occurring right on their doorsteps literally. Wagons contracted to remove culled animals are taking the contaminated carcasses to a Rendering plant in Bradford then driving through through the city to a former chicken factory at Harecroft near which is set amongst farmland. Mainly undercover of darkness they are driven there to be power cleaned. This is after driving over five miles stinking to high heaven and dripping possibly contaminated fluids throughout their journey. Why has nobody raised this issue? Is their a conspiracy? What about the hypocrisy, I hope somebody can bring this appalling practice out into the open! Thursday, June 14, 2001 at 18:37 On the 6 o'clock news this evening, people living in Swansea are complaing of stomach upsets due to earthy taste in their drinking water. Their water is sourced from the Tywi. Is this a sign that water from the Epynt has now reached Swansea and having its effect as predicted? Sunday, June 17, 2001 at 12:08 No comment just a question how many animals have been killed and disposed (burnd) of so far |
